Who operates Better Baby

Austin Westbury operates Better Baby, an app for adult parents and caregivers. Contact support@better-baby.app about this policy or your information.

Information used by the app

• Account information, including your sign-in identifier and email address. Sign in with Apple can provide an Apple relay address instead of your personal email.
• The child profile and preferences you enter, such as name, date of birth, feeding stage, allergies, texture ability, dietary preferences, and family routine.
• Meal plans, food preferences, custom meals, and activity, feeding, sleep, growth, or milestone records that you save.
• Messages you send to Saple and the responses, if you use chat.
• Subscription identifiers and purchase status. Apple processes payment details; Better Baby does not receive your full payment card number.
• Technical records used to operate the service, including request times, errors, account identifiers, and device or app information provided by the app and its service providers.

We use this information to provide your account and saved plans, personalize suggestions, respond to support requests, manage subscriptions, enforce usage limits, and investigate failures or misuse.

Services that process information

Supabase handles sign-in and stores app records. Heroku hosts the backend. RevenueCat and Apple process subscription information. Expo services support app delivery and notifications. Porkbun forwards support email to our support inbox.

These services may process information outside your country, including in the United States. Their handling of information is also subject to their own terms and privacy policies.

Optional AI features

Saple chat and custom-meal parsing use OpenRouter to reach Google's Gemini model. After you allow sharing, chat sends your message, recent conversation history, your child's age, and planned meal names. It does not automatically send the child's name, gender, goals, milestones, or recent logs. Custom-meal parsing sends the description you enter and the meal type. Optional note rewriting sends the note you enter. Each feature asks for permission, which lasts for the current app session and can be withdrawn in Settings.

The regular meal planner and nutrition calculations do not need these AI requests. Nutrition for custom meals comes from matched food catalog entries, rather than a model's nutrient estimates. Avoid including information in an AI request that you do not want these providers to process.

Read OpenRouter's privacy policy and Google's privacy policy. Requests are restricted to Google Vertex endpoints that OpenRouter identifies as supporting zero data retention, with provider data collection denied. Verification of OpenRouter account logging settings remains part of the pre-release review.

Retention and your choices

Saved app records remain associated with your account while you use Better Baby. You can edit profile information and delete chat threads in the app. Contact support@better-baby.app to request access, correction, or deletion of your information.

Account deletion starts in app Settings. Copies in backups, technical logs, and subscription provider records may remain after active app records are removed. We may also need to retain records to meet legal obligations, resolve payment disputes, or investigate abuse. Account and login records are deleted together. Apple sign-in revocation must succeed before deletion for an Apple-linked account. Backup and provider retention schedules remain under review before public release.

You can change photo and notification permissions in your device settings. Turning off a permission does not delete information you already saved. Apple subscription cancellation is separate from account deletion.

Children and this policy

Better Baby is intended for adults managing information about children in their care. It does not offer accounts for children to use independently. Contact us if a child has supplied information directly without an adult's involvement.
